Local Wineries (California)

Some of the local wineries I have enjoyed visiting:

Napa Valley – Fantastic Cabernet, Sauvignon Blanc, Merlot and Malbec (blend). It’s been awhile since I’ve been to Napa Valley. The following are the few wineries that I remember liking for their wines: Franciscan, Merryvale, Turnbull, V.Sattui, Cakebread, Robert Mondavi and Beaulieu and Beringer.

Sonoma and Carneros – Beautiful Pinot Noir.  The only one I can remember is Ceja Vineyards. Ameila Ceja makes some of the best tasting Pinot Noir in the valley!

Edna Valley – Awesome Pinot Noir come from Edna Valley. Visit Kynsi Winery. I tasted some of the best Pinot Noir at Kynsi.  Santa Maria and Santa Barbara produce fabulous Pinot Noir. Visit

Livermore has a little of everything and their wines are fabulous. Visit Thomas Coyne in Livermore. That’s my favorite winery in Livermore so far.

Santa Clara County – Fabulous Cabernet, Sauvignon, Chardonnay and almond champagnes! Try the following wineries Rapazzini (ask for the “baby maker”, Morgan Hill Cellars, J.Lohr (full bodied Cabernet, yum!), Clos LaChance, Fortino (say hi to my friend Bertha), and Guglielmo.

If you have a fabulous local winery recommendation please comment below!

Cook, sip, unwind, enjoy!
